STUDENT surveyor Zoe Smith has joined the Carlisle team of H&H Land and Property on placement.
The 21-year-old, whose family farm is at Edmondsley Grange, near Durham, will work in the Carlisle office before returning to Harper Adams University in Shropshire to complete the fourth year of her rural enterprise and land management degree.
She has previous work experience at the firm’s Durham office and beat off a field of strong applicants to secure the study surveyor post.
She said: “I understand from previous placements here that the opportunities given while on placement far outweigh many of those of my peers. It’s also an opportunity to prove myself during my placement year.”
Zoe, who worked in a Vietnamese orphanage for the World Challenge project, has experience in helping to manage the family arable farm.
She has also shown pedigree cattle while at university, is a keen rider, country sports fan and plays netball and hockey for university teams.
Zoe chose her RICSaccredited placement degree because of its hands-on approach.
