AUCKVALE Loftus, from W&R Kemp & Sons, Bishop Auckland, was reserve junior male champion at the 30th National Hereford Horned Show held at Tenbury Wells.
The 11-month-old is by Auckvale Advance and out of Auckvale Lively third and was runner-up to ten-monthold Free Town Landmark, from RA Bradstock & Partners, Tarrington, Herefordshire.
By Free Town Hannibal, the 2012 Horned Bull of the Year, Landmark was reserve breed and grand male champion, beaten on each occasion by the overall supreme champion – Haven Kermit from EL Lewis and Son, Herefordshire. Their Haven Herd was founded in 1822 and is the oldest family owned Hereford herd in the world. Kermit, 15 months old, is by Haven Cavalier, the 2010 National Horned Show grand male champion, and out of Haven Thrush 64th.
