THE NFU has urged members to take part in its 2014 harvest survey.
It aims to get as full a picture as possible of the wheat crop in England by mid-September and the year’s harvest of major combinable crops to date, by early October. It will look at issues such as the effect of the extreme weather on cereals and oilseeds, the increased winter crop areas and decreased planting of spring crops.
The target date for returning results for England and Wales is Sunday, September 28, but contributions from those with earlier harvested crops are welcome as soon as information is available.
The survey is at nfuonline.com/news/latest-news/our- 2014-harvest-survey.
