HEXHAM breeder Caroline Anderson, of Ingoe, got the 3,000gns top price at the Zwartbles Sheep Association’s first Premier sale at Harrison & Hetherington’s Borderway Mart, Carlisle, with Wallridge Moor Ajax, a home-bred shearling ram sold to J Porter, of Lisburn. She also figured among the leading ram lamb prices achieving 1,500gns with Wallridge Moor Blaxster, bought by J Campbell, of Glasgow, and 750gns with Wallridge Moor, a shearling gimmer, to Master Dixon’s Beech House Flock, Aspatria.
The supreme champion was Pystill Boomer, a ram lamb from GA & HM Francis, of Carmarthen, which sold for 1500gns to L Crum, of Ayr.
Averages: Three aged ewes, £266; 55 shearling ewes, £306.03; 63 ewe lambs, £313.50; two aged rams, £787.50; ten shearling rams, £746.55; 37 ram lambs, £545.15; four non MV aged ewes, £168; two non MV shearling gimmers, £168; four non MV ewe lambs, £102.38.
