POTATO growers are invited to an event on a Lancashire farm involved in Potato Council-funded trials to increase productivity.
Leading experts from Agrovista, McCain, NIAB CUF, and Spud Agronomy will attend the event at Aughton grower Andrew Webster’s farm on Thursday, September 11.
Topics covered will include latest best practice for cultivations, cover crops, and crop nutrition.
Mr Webster said: “As our operation has developed, I’ve been keen to try the latest science on my own farm and I’m glad that we have had the opportunity this year to be involved in extensive Potato Council-funded cultivation, nematicide and cover crop best practice trials.”
Following field discussions, a session on the latest storage technology and sprout suppressant best practice will take place.
The event runs from 3.45pm to 8.15pm followed by a buffet meal.
