ELWICK. – This week’s meeting was a business meeting, followed by a discussion about upcoming competitions and events. Members discussed what county competitions they would like to take part in for the speaking day and sports day. The club is hosting a November bash at Castle Eden Village Hall on November 15. GREAT SMEATON. – Tonight's meeting is something a little different and one which is likely to provide some entertaining moments – Zumba. It will be held in the village hall at 7.30pm; all members must wear trainers. Tomorrow is the Cledales UV Paint Party at Thirsk Auction Mart at 8pm. Tickets are £10. INGLEBY CROSS. – Last week's meeting was a night walk around Cod Beck and a discussion regarding the final details for our 60th anniversary dinner dance on Saturday, October 25. Next week's meetings is a talk from Nicky Sadler from Get Ahead Hats on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the village hall.

NORTHALLERTON. – Last Monday's meeting was a committee meeting. There are dates for the diary: November 17, domino drive; December 15, Christmas meal; January 5, York pantomime. For more details and other dates, see the website. Next Monday's meeting is a entertaining public speaking night. Meet in the auction mart at 7.30pm. Don't forget to give your subs and photo to Phil, as quickly as possible. Also, anyone who would like T-shirts and hoodies should see Madi.

REETH. – There will be a meeting at The Buck Inn on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Could you send back any replies for the dinner dance to Mel as soon as possible, so that we can organise the numbers we need to cater for.

SEDGEFIELD. – Members had their pre-AGM meeting this week, when there was discussion about the different roles and who might be interested. Next week's meeting is the AGM at Hardwick Hall Hotel at 7.30pm. We would also like to say a well done to the members who attended the live and carcase judging last week. We had some new members, which was great to see and they all did really well! It is sports on Sunday at Sedgefield Community School, from 10am to 1pm, when quick cricket, dodge ball and cross country running will be undertaken. All are welcome. STAINDROP. – This week was our club AGM, where we assigned new positions, celebrated our successes and look forward to the coming year. Thank you to our president, vice-presidents and advisory for their support. We hope our new president and members with new positions enjoy their time. On Monday, it is public speaking practice at Winston Village Hall at 7.30pm.

STOCKTON. – Our meeting last night was a sports practice ahead of the county sports day on Sunday. We had a great evening playing dodgeball and kwik cricket. It is going to be held at Sedgefield Community College from 10am onwards. It would be great to see you all there. Our next meeting will be on Monday at The Wilson Centre, Long Newton, from 7pm. The first half an hour will be a pre-AGM ahead of the following week's AGM. There will be a chance to have a chat about the AGM and help the meeting run smoothly. Parents’ attendance would be greatly appreciated for the first part of the meeting. After the pre-AGM, we will have a speaking games night to help prepare us for the Ccounty Big Speaking Day on Sunday, November 9. Everyone is welcome. There has been a change to the programme in October and November. The meetings will now be as follows: October 27, the AGM; November 17, stock judging practice. STOKESLEY. – Monday night's meeting will be a talk about hawks at the Mole Valley meeting room at Stokesley, at 7.30pm. Membership is now due. Members wishing to compete must get their forms and payment to Sarah Frank as soon as possible.

THIRSK. – Three weeks ago, we held our big bash. It was a brilliant night. Thanks to all who came and everyone who helped us make it successful. Last week, we went to the driving range at Northallerton. This week, we had a talk from GSC land agency; thanks for a brilliant talk.

WEARDALE. – This week, members held their AGM at Eastgate Village Hall. This was well attended by past and present members. Throughout the year, we have had great success. The new officer roles for the upcoming year will be as follows: chairman, William Emerson; vice-chairman, Jake Lonsdale; secretary, Katie Maddison; treasurer, Jayne Dobson; and vice-treasurer, Hannah Maddison. We thanked everyone for their help and support during the year and thanked officers who were stepping down. The next meeting will be on Tuesday when we will be discussing programme and fundraising ideas before finishing with pumpkin-carving.

WENSLEYDALE. – Our next meeting will be held on Monday at Redmire Village Hall and is our Hallowe'en pumpkin-carving night (remember to take a pumpkin!) at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in joining Young Farmers is welcome to attend.
