BUTSFIELD. – Thank you to everyone for coming to our race night – it was a very good night. Our last meeting was hosted by Hall Hill Farm where members practised their sheep judging skills. At the next meeting, we will be brushing up on our beef judging on Sunday. Hopefully, after our practices, we will have a good strong team to compete at the county stock judging day on February 8 at Houghall College. CATTERICK. – Last week's meeting was a machinery mock auction. Thanks to Jimmy Fawcett for sparing his time to hold the auction and thanks to the Chapman family for hosting the meeting. ELWICK. – This week’s meeting was a stock judging practice hosted by Mr and Mrs Appleton at Pudding Poke Farm. Results were beef: 1 Lucy Appleton; 2 Kate Kenny; 3 Megan Leonard. Sheep: 1 Kate Kenny; 2 George Bell; 3 Lucy Appleton. Well done to all who took part. Thanks go to Colin Johnson who judged the sheep and Ian Appleton who judged the beef. GREAT SMEATON. – Tonight, the club is trying its hand at sausage-making at Stokesley Butchers at Great Ayton. Meet on the green at 7pm or 7.30pm there. The postcode is TS9 6NF. Anyone who is going to the AGM must have paid their next instalment of £100 to Rachel by tonight, as it is the deadline.

INGLEBY CROSS. – This week's meeting was a business meeting where we discussed the rest of the programme and fundraisers for the club. The trophies that were awarded at the Ingleby Cross 60th Dinner Dance were given back to the winners after being engraved with the 2014 winners, as follows: junior boy, Will Kitching; intermediate boy, Eric Hilary; senior boy, Paddy Kirk; junior girl, Lauren Dennison; intermediate girl, Emma Hilary; senior girl, Penny Bell; stock judging, Holly Wilkinson; best overall girl, Caitlin Bell; best overall boy, Alistair Stoddart.

SEDGEFIELD. – This week, members enjoyed stock judging practice. Many thanks to the Dove family for hosting and explaining. Thank you to Mrs Dove for the lovely food. Next week's meeting is an interclub with Elwick. Meet at Elwick WI Hall at 7.30pm.

STAINDROP. – On Monday night, members were invited to Mr and Mrs Bainbridge's for an evening of pig judging, judged by David Nesbit. The results were: juniors, 1 David Herbert; 2 Luke Medd; 3 Lilly Fox; seniors, 1 Michael Boyes; 2 Matthew Bainbridge; 3 Tom Herbert and James Bainbridge. Next week's meeting is programme organisation at 7.30pm at Winston Village Hall.

STOCKTON. – This week’s meeting was sheep judging hosted by Jim Cowan and judged by Richard Franks. We had a great turnout and everyone had a go at judging a class of breeding ewes and finished lambs. Thank you to Jim for his hospitality and to Richard for sharing his expertise. On Monday, February 9, it will be a games night at The Wilson Centre, Long Newton, at 7.45pm. Our annual quiz is on Saturday, March 28, at The Wilson Centre, Long Newton (note change of venue), at 7.30pm, with the first round at 8pm. Teams should be of a maximum of eight people, at a cost of £6.50 per person to include a pie and peas supper. There is a trophy to be won. STOKESLEY. – Monday's meeting was fat lamb judging. Thank you to Matthew Macdonald and Anne Barnes for hosting the meeting and Steve Coulson for judging. On Monday, there is a committee meeting to finalise the details of the ball. WENSLEYDALE. – Our meeting was held on Monday night at Wensleydale Eggs, Finghall, when we had a very interesting tour of the poultry business. Thanks to the Allinsons for allowing us to come and look around. Check Facebook for details of the next meeting.
