CHAMPIONING the Farmed Environment (CFE), working with the NFU, are hosting a soils and water event on Wednesday, November 27, at Cafe Ambio, the Auction Mart, Crooklands, LA7 7FP. Registration is from 9.30am with the event starting at 10am until 2.30pm with a free light lunch provided.

The event will explore the CFE mantra of how to manage land to enhance productivity hand in hand with delivering a better natural environment.

Northern Area CFE co-ordinator Fraser Hugill said: “The event will be an opportunity to learn from real-life examples of how farmers, academics and the wider supply chain are working to enhance farm productivity in a way that enhances the natural environment.”

“Water is something this region is well versed in, there are some great examples of how farmers and organisations are working together to manage water which we can all learn from. Soil is now coming to the fore, it is key to all we do as farmers and an area where there is much to learn on both arable and livestock farms.”

To book onto the event, please send Fraser a text message on 07502 425266 or email fjhugill@yahoo.co.uk
