A SOLDIER has set a new Guinness World Record and raised thousands of pounds to help build a special new therapy centre at the school which helps his six year old son.

Rocco Zecca, a WO 2 based at Catterick Garrison did a half marathon every day throughout February totalling 28 and smashing the previous record by eight. He's raised over £9,500 and is aiming for over £10,000 to help build a special rebound trampoline centre at Mowbray School in Bedale which son Michael attends. Rocco said his son has autism which means he hears and processes the world differently. He added: "At age three we received his diagnosis. As first time parents we felt like we were failing at parenting, a non-verbal child who we could see was struggling to communicate with everybody around him. Then Mowbray School came along and in a short space of time changed Michael’s life, and our entire family’s life, for the better."

They're aiming to build the £200,000 centre so they can offer the therapy on a daily basis. To help www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rocco-zecca?
