DARLINGTON'S most expensive areas have been revealed as the borough anticipates an influx of people moving from London to the North-East after today's Budget. 

Darlington appears to be the favourite location for a new Treasury North campus of Government, which would initially see 750 civil service jobs in the town centre, with the announcement coming later today.

It follows chancellor Rishi Sunak's 2020 budget promise to relocate 22,000 civil servants out of London and establish an Economic Campus in the North of England.

Hundreds of eager house-hunters and those first to be relocated will be looking for the best homes in the borough so, with the help of property website Zoopla, The Northern Echo has revealed four of the most expensive areas in Darlington. 

The data is based on the current average value of homes on Zoopla.

Croft on Tees, Darlington DL2 - Average value: £939,070

The average price for property in Croft on Tees stood at £939,070 in March 2021. In terms of property types, flats in Croft on Tees sold for an average of £75,289 and terraced houses for £149,615.

Neasham, Darlington DL2- Average value: £657,126

The average price for property in Neasham stood at £657,126 in March 2021. Flats in Neasham sold for an average of £75,289 and terraced houses for £160,445.

Coniscliffe Road, Darlington DL3 - Average value: £590,147

The average price for property in Coniscliffe Mews stood at £590,147 in March 2021. Flats in Coniscliffe Mews sold for an average of £208,197 and terraced houses for £135,365.

Blind Lane, Darlington DL2 - Average value: £561,094
