A DOG was hit and killed by a car in Sandsend on the North Yorkshire Coast and police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident.
It happened on Wednesday April 7 between 2pm and 2.30pm on a pathway through woodland.
It involved a black 4×4 vehicle and the dog died from the injuries sustained.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified and is currently assisting North Yorkshire Police with their inquiries.
However, officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who recalls seeing the vehicle prior to the incident, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.
