A FARMER accused of picking up a car with a tractor and dumping it in the road off his land is to go on trial.
Robert Hooper, 57, of Brockersgill Farm, Newbiggin-in-Teesdale, appeared at Durham Crown Court on Monday.
He is charged with dangerous driving and criminal damage to a Vauxhall Corsa on June 5.
The incident allegedly happened at around 5.45pm on the B6277 at Newbiggin-in-Teesdale.
A trial is scheduled to take place in the week commencing January 31 next year.
Judge James Adkin has granted him bail until then.
