A community agricultural show was ‘back with a bang’ at the weekend after a two-year hiatus due to the global pandemic.
Around 7,000 attended the 167th Sedgefield and District Agricultural Show on Saturday.
Held on the Robert Brown Show Field, West Park, Sedgefield, the show had the usual family-friendly offer including local produce and livestock.
People enjoyed activities including competitions and displays comprising agricultural classes for horses, ponies and donkeys, vintage tractors, a classic car display, small livestock, horticulture and a dog show.
There were several marquees with craft stalls, horticultural displays, home produce and handicrafts, prize vegetables and floral arrangements as well a range of entertainment for people of all ages.
Show chairman Ian Mason said: “It was fantastic, one of the biggest turnouts we have had for a long time.
“We had two years off and it has worked well both from a competitor and an audience point of view.
“It was the right type of weather and the right type of day.
“People just kept coming. We aimed out focus at families and young people and there was plenty for them to see and take part and watch.”
