A RYEDALE young farmers’ club is organising a tractor run on Sunday, December 18.
Snainton Young Farmers’ Club, whose members come from an area between Malton and Scarborough, has named the Farming Community Network as its chosen charity for the festive-themed event. There will be a prize for the best decorated tractor.
Tractors will gather at Lane End Farm, Wilton, near Pickering - by kind permission of local agricultural contractor Alec Lunn - from late morning, setting off at approximately 1pm.
Entry fees are £10 per tractor and driver, £5 per passenger, to include a hot drink. For further details, including any offers of sponsorship, visit the Snainton YFC Facebook page or telephone the club secretary on 07841 585308. Entry is on the day.
The Farming Community Network is a voluntary organisation supporting farmers and their families with free advice; both personal and business-related. For further information visit www.fcn.org.uk. The charity’s confidential helpline, manned by volunteers who understand the farming way of life, is open from 7am to 11pm every day of the year on 03000 111999.
