Organisers of a country show are holding a fashion evening next week as they gather support for next year's event.

North Yorkshire County Agricultural Show did not take place this year, but will be held in 2024 on Sunday, June 16.

The show committee is organising a series of events beforehand, with a fashion showcase planned for Wednesday, September 20 at Thief Hall, Thornton le Moor, starting at 7pm.

It will include men's, women's and children's country and leisure wear from brands including McIvors, Trespass, Montana, Pippin and Purdy, Vivendi and Regatta, plus pet accessories.

Tickets are £20 and include a welcome drink and light refreshments, provided by Moorside Kitchen of Kirkbymoorside, and there is a bar.

For tickets telephone either Angela Addison on 07584 302990 or Tricia Lovell on 07787 387831.

A spokesperson for the show said although it has changed its name and venues over the years, it is still the local show for Northallerton and surrounding area.

"We welcome anyone who would like to be involved in the show, from sponsors to volunteers helping to set up the show, on the day or simply to become a friend of the show.

"We are planning more events in the near future, including a clay pigeon shoot and a pre-Christmas tea dance – details of these will be available very soon."
