VILLAGERS are busy preparing for Cononley's annual scarecrow festival, due to take place over the early May bank holiday weekend with a 'sporty' theme.
Organised by the village institute, this year's three day festival, which will take place from Saturday, May 4, will have a sports theme in celebration of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, which will take place in late July and early August.
Visitors will be able to view scarecrows around the village and pubs and the shop will be open for food and drinks. St John's Church will also bed open on the Sunday.
In addition, on the bank holiday Monday, there will be a duck race, raffle and refreshments all day at the village institute. More details at: https://www.cononleyinstitute.co.uk/event-details/cononley-scarecrow-festival-2024
