A black Limousin bullock from Messrs Raine, Randalholme, took the overall championship at Barnard Castle’s show and sale of store cattle and went on to sell for £2340.
Outwith the show, the sale was topped by a Limousin bullock from DA and AM Gill, Marwood Grange, Marwood at £2510. Heifers peaked at £2500 for the first prize Limousin from CW Tunstall, Lyndale House, Bowes.
Overall, 93 bullocks averaged £1972.69 (-£32 on the year) with 153 heifers at £1817.58 (-£97). The 40 young bulls averaged £2163 (+£13) having sold to £2680 for a Limousin from Lyndale House.
Breeding cattle peaked at £5100 for a heifer with calf at foot from M Wood.
